Shirt lettering for vinyl or print

A shirt design is usually just words — a name, a team, a joke, a date — and the lettering is what makes it look finished. Pick a style, then choose the file for how you will put it on the shirt.

FAQ

Text logos
QWhich file do I need for iron-on vinyl (HTV)?
A cut file. Open the style in the editor (Customize more) and export the SVG as a cut file: outlines become solid shapes, overlapping letters are welded, and the colors go on separate layers. Remember to mirror the design before cutting HTV — your cutting software has a mirror option.
QWhich file do I need for DTF or sublimation printing?
A large transparent PNG, or the print-ready PDF. Everything prints, including gradients, gloss and glitter.
QHow big should the text be on a shirt?
As a rough guide, a full-front design is often around 10–12 inches wide on an adult shirt and smaller on kids' sizes; a left-chest name is around 3–4 inches. Measure your shirt and set the final size in your cutting or printing software.
QCan I make a set of shirts with different names?
Yes. Change the words and the same style is rebuilt around each name — handy for teams, families and events.
QCan I use what I make commercially?
The design you make is yours — we do not claim copyright on what you export (see the Terms). One thing to know: a logo built only from a standard font can be hard to register as a trademark, so if you plan to register one, ask a professional.
