Will the SVG cut without installing my font?

Yes. The export contains outlined paths, not live text, so there is no font to substitute. The shape you see is the shape that cuts.

Does it come out the right size?

Yes. The canvas is a real sheet size, so a 6 inch word is 6 inches when the file opens in your cutting software.

Can it make separate layers for multi-color vinyl?

Yes. Each color becomes its own sheet, and the same color splits into separate layers where pieces overlap so the artwork does not change.

Anything without a real edge: gloss and metallic sheen, soft shadows, distressing, photos. Gradients are flattened to one solid color. The tool names what it dropped instead of silently cutting something wrong.

Here the decoration is the design. Pick a style with several outline rings and a drop layer behind it, and those layers already exist. When you export, they come out as separate cut layers — because that is what they were the whole time.

Lower colors grow

Hand-placed vinyl is never perfect. A fraction of a millimetre off shows up as a white hairline. So the lower colors are grown outward — but only where a color above covers them.

The top stays crisp

The topmost color is never changed, because that is the edge people actually see. Drag the slider and the upper color goes translucent, so you can watch the overlap you are buying.

How to make one

1Type it and shape it

Pick a font or start from a ready-made style and change the word — the decoration stays put. Arch it, curve it, warp it, set the size. Everything is dragged with a thumb.
2Check before you cut

Open the cut file panel. Set how many colors you are willing to cut, set the overlap for the lower layers, and simplify if the node count is heavy. It warns about unweedable specks.
3Export and cut

You get an SVG with the layers separated and sized correctly — ready to drop straight into your cutting software. No account, nothing to install.

Built for a phone,

Most vector work assumes a mouse, a keyboard and a big screen. That assumption is why so many people design on a laptop they have to go and sit at — and why “I’ll do it later” turns into never.

QWill I get white gaps between the layers?

Not if you use the overlap slider. Lower colors grow only where an upper color covers them; the top color is never altered.

QWhat will not cut?

Anything without a real edge — gloss, soft shadows, distressing, photos. Gradients flatten to one solid color. It names what it dropped instead of quietly cutting something you never designed.
