The short answer
- Type your name or brand in the Logo Text Maker.
- Pick a style.
- Export as PNG without a background — everything around the letters is transparent.
- Also grab the SVG if the logo will ever be used large (signs, shirts, print).
No sign-up, no watermark, free while the tool is in beta.
Why a transparent background matters
A logo has to sit on top of other things: a photo, a video, a coloured header, a product, a shirt. If the file has a white box around the letters, that box shows up everywhere except on a white page. A transparent background means only the letters are there — the rest is see-through.
PNG, SVG or JPG?
| Format | Transparent? | Sharp when enlarged? | Use it for |
|---|---|---|---|
| PNG | Yes | Up to the size you exported | Social posts, videos, slides, web pages |
| SVG | Yes | Yes, at any size | Logos, signs, print, cutting machines, further editing |
| JPG | No (always has a background) | Up to the size you exported | Sharing in chats and social feeds |
A good habit: keep both a PNG and an SVG of your logo. The PNG for everyday use, the SVG as the master copy you can always make a new PNG from.
How to check the background is really transparent
Some tools give you a PNG with a white or checkerboard background drawn in. Two quick checks:
- Put it on a dark colour. Drop the PNG onto a black slide or a dark photo. If you see a white rectangle or a pale fringe, it is not transparent.
- Look at the edges up close. A clean transparent logo has smooth edges against any background, not a light halo around the letters.

What size to export
PNG is made of pixels, so it only stays sharp up to the size it was exported at. Here the PNG comes out at about 10 pixels per millimetre of the sheet — roughly 2,100 pixels wide on an A4 or Letter sheet — which is plenty for:
- social profile pictures and posts,
- video overlays and thumbnails (full HD is 1,920 pixels wide),
- slides and web pages.
For anything printed or very large — signs, banners, shirts — use the SVG or the print PDF instead of a PNG. They stay sharp at any size.
The usual traps of “free” logo makers
Plenty of logo makers are free to design in, but the download is where the conditions appear. Before you spend time on a design, check:
- Sign-up — do you need an account or an email to download?
- Watermark — is the free download stamped?
- Resolution — is the free PNG small (for example a few hundred pixels)?
- Transparency — is the transparent background a paid option?
- Vector — is SVG or PDF available, or only images?
- Editing later — can you come back and change the words?
In this tool, the download is the free part: transparent PNG, SVG, JPG and print PDF with no account and no watermark. The files also keep the editing data, so you can open them again and change the words later.
Commercial use and trademarks
We do not claim copyright on what you make — the design is yours (see the Terms). One honest caveat: a logo built only from a standard font is often hard to register as a trademark, because the font is not unique to you. If you plan to register your logo, talk to a professional, and consider customising the letters.
FAQ
Do I need an account? No.
Is there a watermark? No.
Can I edit the logo later? Yes. Open the downloaded PNG, SVG, JPG or PDF in the tool again.
Can I add an icon? You can add simple ready-made icons (hearts, stars, animals and more) from Parts. The tool does not draw illustrations for you.
