Retype Even Unrecognizable Letters! Decorate by Instinct

Even letters decorated so heavily they're unrecognizable can have their words retyped later. Here's how to enjoy a new kind of text editing — decorate as boldly as you want and still redo it any time — all on your phone, no special knowledge needed.

Retype Even Unrecognizable Letters! Decorate by Instinct

You decorate it boldly, then — “oops, I misspelled it”

You make it 3D, layer on outlines, add a melting effect… finally done! And then you notice a typo. You try to fix it, and you have to redecorate from scratch.

It’s the single most deflating moment in decorated-text design, isn’t it? With DecoTecoPop, that doesn’t happen.

Why can’t you usually retype it?

Most apps freeze your letters into a “picture” the moment you decorate them. A frozen picture no longer holds any “text” information. So even if you want to change the words, there’s nothing left to change.

DecoTecoPop keeps the inside as text no matter how much you decorate or how different it looks. This is an idea called non-destructive (“not breaking” the original) — the decoration is just layered on top, like clothes. So just like changing clothes, you can retype only the words inside, any time.

Even when the original shape is gone, you can still fix it

Melted, stretched, no longer recognizable — even then, you’re fine. Retype the words, and they’re rebuilt as new letters with the same decoration. There’s no “if I tweak this any more I might not be able to undo it” anxiety, so you can play boldly.

How you used to fix decorated text

Professional PC software can fix it, but it costs around ¥3,280 a month and needs a PC and the know-how. Phone decoration apps are free and easy, but they turn your text into a picture you can’t retype. Starting over from scratch is free too, but it drains your time and your motivation.

Your only options were “fixable but a hassle” or “not fixable at all.”

With DecoTecoPop, it’s 3 steps [Free, no sign-up]

Because you can redo it any time, you can decorate boldly with peace of mind.

Step 1: Type your text

Start by entering your words. You can change them later, so a placeholder is fine.

Step 2: Decorate by instinct

Layer on outlines, 3D, melting, gloss, and more — as much as you like. Overdo it? No worries, you can retype the words any time.

Step 3: Switch to print colors and save

It automatically matches the colors to how they’ll look in print, and adds the bleed automatically. Then it saves a PDF you can hand straight to a print shop.

What being able to “retype” makes easier

The inside staying text isn’t just about fixing typos. In real-world projects, it pays off in all sorts of situations.

  • Mass-produce wording variations in the same design: Made a “September issue”? Just change the words for “October issue.” The decoration carries right over. Perfect for building name-tag and menu “templates.”
  • Fine-tune carefully later: Finish it once, look back the next day, and “make the outline a bit thicker” — without starting over.
  • Handle fixes you only notice after printing: Print it, decide “actually, let me change one character,” and just open the saved data and retype.
  • Experiment boldly: Melt it into a drip, warp it like clay, pile on outlines — with no fear of “not being able to undo,” you can try daring decorations.

In the design world, this “fixable later” idea is called non-destructive editing, and it’s something pros use as a matter of course. Bringing it to a simple tap on your phone is this tool’s biggest strength.

FAQ

Q. Which phones and browsers does it work on?

Editing decorated text needs a device and browser that support WebGPU, a relatively new technology. As a guide: on iPhone, a recent iOS (iOS 26 or later) in Safari; on Android, a recent version of Chrome. On unsupported devices the decoration editor may not open — you can still use the basic text and print-data features.

Q. Is it really free?

Yes — editing and decorating your text (styling and reshaping) is free, always. Exporting the print data (saving as PDF and so on) is free while we’re in beta, and will become paid later.

Q. No matter how much I decorate, can I really retype it?

Yes. Whether you’ve made it 3D, melted it into a drip, or layered outlines several times over, you can retype the letters any time. The decoration stays put, and only the words swap out.

Q. After saving, can I open it again and edit?

Yes. Open the saved data and you can pick up where you left off — keep decorating or change the words.
